Really: It’s Time to Move On!

Smart people plus measurable outcomes do not always equal progressive leadership.  Case in point?  Wall Street CEO’s who manipulated financial programs, made hundreds of millions for their company and  themselves.

Progressive leadership on the other hand is what we need today, to accelerate the path to prosperity and build the enduring organizations that create jobs and a growing base of talented leaders.  While it’s hard not to steam about the double standards that are evident on Wall Street, our focus is more about what happens in the capital region.

Not Again!

Last night’s evening news reported a 1 trillion dollar bail-out of Greece by the economic union.  I applaud their presence, response and the expanded scope of their decision.  So many things done well - so much uncertainty remaining in our world.

If there was ever any doubt that we are a global, integrated financial system, the large drop in the DOW last week eliminated that.  The issue that presides in my mind right now is how organization and business leaders from the area will respond.  Will they continue down the track of economic rebound and renewal, or, will they again recoil back into the emotional shells, full of fear.

Leaving the Softest Footprint

As I age I become less tolerant of those who blast their ego towards everyone around them.   Even worse, I have found myself pushing a message and decision into the face of people I admire and like.  I am not the best model all the time.  Who is?

Great question!  Those who believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ as their lord and savior have an obvious choice.  I have surrundered.  While there is no better model, I struggle because I fall short in every way, and at times, fall into a bit of dispair given our Lord’s perfect image and life.
